Funding Available for Restoration Implementation Partnerships
January 5, 2017
NOAA Fisheries is announcing the availability of up to $100 million in DARRP funding for restoration implementation awards in 2017. Funding will be awarded to restoration partners to implement projects addressing habitats and coastlines damaged by oil and chemical spills. The funds used for these awards come from settlements with responsible parties.
This opportunity will help NOAA make major progress toward implementing restoration activities. These activities are identified in the Deepwater Horizon programmatic restoration plan and restoration plans for other oil and chemical spill cases around the country.
Through this funding opportunity, we are seeking to collaborate with non-federal partners. Together, we can accomplish common goals related to oil spills, hazardous substance releases, and other damages to natural resources.
We anticipate that a typical, awarded cooperative agreement will range from $2.5 million to $50 million, with a maximum award of $100 million. The deadline for applications is March 6, 2017.
